1. Who may use the law library?
All members of the public, including judges, lawyers, paralegals, law students, and persons who are preparing their own cases or are interested in the law are welcome to use the law library.
2. Do you have any MCLE materials that attorneys may borrow?
Attorneys may borrow CEB audio tapes and CDs and their accompanying materials. Borrowing rules include a requirement of a bar card and a deposit. Alternatively, an attorney may bring a tape and/or CD player with headphones and listen in the law library.
3. What types of materials does the law library have?
The law library has standard legal research materials such as codes, cases, citators, legal treatises, law reviews, finding aids, practice guides, and manuals, both in books and online.
4. What online services are available to the public at the law library?
At present, the online services you may use in the law library include primary sources (codes and cases) and citators on Lexis, Loislaw, and Westlaw, some specialized databases such as CCH, RIA, Heinonline (law reviews), CEB OnLaw, some practice materials on CD-ROM, and the Internet. Printing is available with purchase of a print card.
5. Do you have materials for law or paralegal students?
Law students are welcome to use the materials and services of the law library, but for materials designed especially for them, they should look to their school law library or bookstore.
6. Can you help me find a form? Can you help me fill out a form?
We can show you self-help books, manuals, and books of forms. We can show you how to use their indexes to find a form. We are not allowed to select a form for you or fill it out for you.
